Gender Equality

Equality between females and males is a human rights issue – it affects everyone of us. Gender equality entails the concept that all human beings, both men and women have equal opportunity and are free to develop their personal abilities and make choices without the limitations set by stereotypes, rigid gender roles, or prejudice.

The United Nations has identified gender equality as a key accelerator to achieving the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs, Goal-5). RDF contributes to achieving the SDGs by working to address gender relations that prevent girls and women from operating on a level playing field with their male counterparts through creating equal opportunities for young people to pursue their life goals and develop their full capacity as human beings.
